Our Story
SVOBODA means FREEDOM, and freedom has been at the heart of our story from the very beginning.
Founded by a mother and daughter, SVOBODA was born in New York City in 2018.
It all started when I was getting ready for my first Burning Man. I wanted something warm and wild, but also something that would scream “ME” in the middle of the desert. So my mom, Alla, made me my very first faux fur coat. That coat became our first-ever design, Ying & Yang.
We had no idea that one coat would become the beginning of SVOBODA.
After Burning Man, we simply couldn't stop creating. One coat became another, then another, and somewhere along the way we realized we weren't just making clothes. We were creating experiences.
Today, SVOBODA is still the same mother-and-daughter team behind every creation. Every piece is designed, cut, and sewn by us, one at a time. We create slowly and intentionally, choosing individuality, quality, and craftsmanship over mass production.
We work exclusively with high-quality faux fur because we believe animals are here to be loved and protected, not worn. You don't need the real thing to unleash your wild side. Channel your spirit animal, don't wear it.
Our inspiration comes from everywhere: art, music, nature, festivals, nightlife, travel, strange ideas, beautiful people, and those unforgettable moments when you feel completely free to be yourself.
Born in New York City and now creating from Tbilisi, Georgia, SVOBODA may have moved across the world, but the idea behind it hasn't changed.
Freedom has no borders, and neither do we.
