How It's Made

Made slowly. Made thoughtfully. Made to stand out.

Every SVOBODA piece starts with an idea, an inspiration, a color combination, a texture, or sometimes simply the question: what if we made this a little more outrageous?

From there, we source our materials, develop the design, cut each piece, sew it, line it, and finish it by hand. We work in small quantities rather than mass-producing thousands of identical garments.

The Fur

We never use real animal fur.

We believe animals are here to be loved, respected, and admired for their beauty, not worn.

We use EcoShag® faux fur, a soft and durable faux fur designed with a more thoughtful production process. EcoShag® is made with an emphasis on minimizing manufacturing waste and using recycled sources wherever possible.

We choose our faux fur for more than the way it looks. We search for extraordinary colors and textures, beautiful movement, durability, and materials we can feel good about turning into something you'll love and wear for years.

No real fur. Ever.

Art On The Inside

The inside matters too.

Many of our pieces are finished with statement linings featuring the work of real independent artists.

Instead of treating the lining as something meant to disappear, we make it part of the piece. A little hidden artwork that belongs to you and gives another artist's work a place to live.

Whenever we use an artist's work, we believe in giving credit where it's due. Wearable art should support the people who create it.

Materials With Intention

We're constantly looking for better materials.

Whenever possible, we prioritize responsibly sourced, recycled, lower-waste, natural, or otherwise more thoughtful material options without compromising the quality and personality that make a SVOBODA piece what it is.

We don't claim that making new clothing has zero impact. It doesn't.

What we can do is make intentionally, produce in small quantities, choose our materials carefully, reduce unnecessary waste, and create pieces that aren't designed to be worn once and forgotten.

Made By People

SVOBODA began with the two of us: a mother and daughter making clothes together.

We design our pieces and bring them to life by hand, from cutting and sewing to lining, finishing, and checking the smallest details.

As SVOBODA grows, we want to grow thoughtfully, working with skilled people who share the same respect for craftsmanship and keeping the human touch at the heart of what we make.

Because for us, growth doesn't have to mean mass production.

We'd rather make fewer, more special pieces than endless collections designed to be replaced by the next thing.

Made by people. Made with care. Made to be kept.
